    Kathmandu-Nagarkot-Dhulikhel-Bhaktapur

    Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal and have choices of accommodation and have lots of sites, including UNESCO heritages sites, which can be included in your mountain biking in and around Kathmandu as part of your city trip. Nagarkot is nearest viewpoint from Kathmandu with various standards of accommodation. It is famous for the sunrise and sunset views. Early in the morning and evening the view of Himalayas changes with the sunrise and setting sun. So, we can get a very pretty view of the Himalayas.

    Dhulikhel is also a viewpoint and offers views of the Himalayas. With a clear weather day, we can see views of Himalayas. Sunrise and sunset views are great from Dhulikhel.

    Bhaktapur is another nearby ancient city with the old king palace, also called Durbar Square. It is a UNESCO world heritage site. You will see old houses with lots of wood carvings, there are numerous pagoda style temples, we can also see shikahra style temples too. We can also see the oldest profession of Pottery and the well-known pottery square. You can also have a try, if you want.

    We will have our breakfast and assemble at Freewheel Adventure Nepal and our trip starts from here.

    The first section of our ride has a little traffic. Later, after we cross the ring road the traffic ibecomes

    less. We will stop for Lunch at Sankhu. It will be a simple Nepali meal. They will serve Dal Bhat (Rice,

    Lentil and Vegetables). Slowly we will ascend to Nagarkot. Nagarkot is a well-known viewpoint, and you

    will be able to see lots of Himalayas on a clear day. We will have dinner and sleep at Nagarkot. There are

    various grades of hotel in Nagarkot.

    We can see sunrise from Nagarkot and have our breakfast and move towards Dhulikhel. Today’s ride in

    the beginning is a gentle uphill to the viewpoint tower. We can stop here for a picture or two. After that

    we head downhill onto flatter terrain. We stop at Nala for Lunch. It will be a simple meal for lunch. We

    will than head towards Dhulikhel and here we meet a little traffic, and the trails will also go uphill. The

    sunset view is nice over the Himalayas. We will have our dinner and rest at hotel.

    We can see the Himalayas at sunrise, before having breakfast at hotel, to be refreshed and ready to ride.

    Today’s first section is quite flat. Towards the Namobuddha it become mostly much uphill, but we can

    call it a gentle uphill. We will then visit Monasteries at Namobuddha. We will have a Nepali Lunch

    (Dal/Bhat) and slowly we will descend to Sanku before a gentle uphill to Panauti. We can visit Panauti if

    you are interested to see the old temple and monuments. Slowly we will continue riding to Bhaktapur.

    Today is an easy day. We will explore Bhaktapur city in the first half of the day and after lunch we can

    slowly cycle our way back to Kathmandu. We will end the trip at Paknajol.

    We can end the trip on the 3 rd day or alternatively, if you want to explore the city (UNESCO) world

    heritage site on mountain bike we can do this at the beginning or at the end of our trip.

    • All hotels as per your budget, but we suggest you have at least medium budget accommodation with Bed and Breakfast.
